Huh? It's November?
Monday, November 1. 2010
Wow, have I been remiss with my writing recently. I keep committing to spending time on it, and I keep finding other pursuits to occupy my time. It's been said before, but I'll say it again: this sort of behavior has to stop.
At least I do have one short story I'm shopping. I've collected one rejection (the quick turnaround, bandage-rip experience of submitting to Fantasy & Science Fiction) and I'm searching for more. Or, well, you know, maybe an actual acceptance letter. They're a bit like fairies—everyone says they exist, but it's only hearsay for me at this point. It would be nice to get one, just to see what one looks like.
Fatalism aside, November is the season for nose-grinding. Or some other such painful metaphor. I'll spend some time writing each day this month, starting with this day. And I'll see if I can finally get that habit to stick.
I'll also keep up the submission ping-pong game on Love, to 500 Decimal Places (currently at Asimov's) and see if I can find a happy ending there. Stay tuned, Dear Reader (if, as always, you do indeed exist...).

Yes, I've been reading your blog but mostly lurking. I don't want to comment too much in case your Foursquare stalkers latch onto me as well.
